We Run on Volunteer Power!

Women empowering women - through cycling

JoyRiders run 100s of rides every year - engaging 1000s of women.

This only happens because we have a friendly, sociable bunch

of hard-working volunteers.

Women joining our rides feel safe and looked after - because JoyRiders' provide comprehensive Ride Leader Training for all ride leaders and backstops.  See below for more info on this.

To run just one ride our leaders have to:

  • create, recce and risk assess the route...
  • find two ride leaders volunteer to lead at a day / time
  • look after all participants on every ride

In 2022 alone, JoyRiders ran 500+ ride events in 4 cities for 4000+ participants.

Help us reach even more women!

Become a Ride Leader!

There is no such thing as an accredited Ride Leader qualification in the UK.

JoyRiders have developed Ride Leader cycle skills, on-road training and mentoring, basic bike maintenance (optional) and first aid training combined with a six-module online program which ensures our Ride Leaders are equipped and qualified for every eventuality - with a Certificate to prove it!
