We really need more volunteer ride leaders so that we can bring bike rides to more people, more often.
We support our volunteers with free ride leader training (which we think is the best in the business…) and managing and setting up JoyRiders groups.

We support our volunteers with free ride leader training (which we think is the best in the business…) and managing and setting up JoyRiders groups.
Our volunteers run our groups. This means planning rides, helping riders sort out their bikes (making sure saddle height is right and tyres are pumped up), explaining routes and rules, leading the ride at the front, or supporting riders at the back as a backstop.
All of our volunteers are friendly, experienced cyclists. Maya, Mariam, Scott and our Senior Ride Leaders are here to help as well.
If you would like to have a chat with one of us and find out more about volunteering, email info@joyriders.org.uk
JoyRiders run a one-day Ride Leader training workshop to kickstart the volunteering journey. The workshop covers:
Before the workshop, we ask that all of our prospective Ride Leaders join us on a few rides beforehand, to get a good idea of the sort of riding we do. There will also be a two-hour riding assessment so that we can check our Ride Leaders have a good sense of how to ride in the road.
All Ride Leaders must also have First Aid training, which JoyRiders will pay for.
