Ride with us in London

Rides for women

We started riding in Waltham Forest in late 2016. More than eight years later, we now have active groups covering most of London and some learn-to-ride sessions too.

We have women only groups covering Brent, Ealing, Camden, Islington, Newham, Southwark, and Waltham Forest. We often ride to or through Richmond, City of London, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster as well as other neighbouring boroughs.

Our volunteer-led rides are usually around 2.5 hours, covering 12km - 40km with a coffee break in the middle, or a lunch break on longer rides. All of our rides are free but you might want to bring some money for a coffee a the rest stop.

Learn to ride

We run free family and women only learn-to-ride and led-ride sessions for families and women only groups in Burgess Park, Southwark. We also run free women only learn-to-ride sessions in Somers Town, Camden and Andover Estate, Islington and Colombia Road, Tower Hamlets.

What to bring on your first ride

We have bikes to borrow at all of our learn-to-ride sessions and at some of our led rides. If you're coming on one of our rides, you should check the ride information to see whether you need to bring your own bike.

You should bring water and a snack and dress for the weather as we'll be riding come rain or shine!

If you're bringing your own bike, it should be working properly and the tyres pumped up.

You should use these simple checks:

  • Air - are your tyres pumped up?
  • Brakes - are your brakes working?
  • Chain - is your bike chain on? Is it rusty and stretched?

What to expect on your first ride

When you book your first ride, the ride leader will get in touch with you to introduce themself. If you need to borrow a bike, this is a good time to check whether they have bikes to borrow for the ride.

The ride leader might ask if you want to be added to the group WhatsApp group. This is a good way to get a feel of what everyone is like, but you don't have to join if you don't want to!

On the day of the ride, check your bike is working before you leave the house. Try to arrive at the starting point a bit early in case you get lost, as they're sometimes difficult to find.

When everyone is together, the ride leader will introduce you to the group and make sure you have someone to ride with.
