Summer

Water and if you want a drink on our coffee stop, some cash or a card.
We need you to bring a bike to some of our rides, so please check if you don't have your own.

You will need to be able to ride a bike to come on our rides. We might have a learn-to-ride service near you to help you on your bike.
If you're coming to one of our rides for the first time, returning to riding after some time off, or you're feeling a bit wobbly, you should join one of our Beginners or Beginners + rides first.
It's women only on our women's only rides, so please ask the boys to stay at home. Daughters aged 16+ are welcome - please book them their own space.
Husbands, boyfriends, sons, brothers, etc are more than welcome at our family rides.
If there’s not a JoyRiders group near you, that’s because we don’t have any ride leaders.
If you would like to find out more about setting up a JoyRiders group near you, visit our Start a new group page.
Everyone living as a woman is welcome at our women’s rides. This includes trans women.
We are looking for trans and non-binary volunteers to start a ‘Trans and non-binariders’ group. To express interest, email

We don't insist you wear a helmet - that's your decision. However, we are obliged to ask that you assess the risk to your safety by not wearing a helmet.
We may ask children at our learn-to-ride and led ride sessions to wear helmets if local authority funding requires us to. If you don't want your child to wear a helmet, we are obliged to ask that you assess the risk to their safety by not wearing a helmet and agree to the waiver.
