Helping young people cycle to school

We want to be able to make riding to school a normal for more children and parents.

We are over the moon to have received a Walking and Cycling London grant from TfL to begin a three-year bike bus pilot in Redbrige, London.

From May 2025, JoyRiders will be supporting parents and children in three schools across Redbridge to ride to and from school every Wednesday. At this current stage in the project, children and parents will meet our qualified cycling instructors Nadjie and Serena and parent volunteer ride leaders at bike bus stops so that up to 30 children can ride into school together.

At this stage in the pilot, we are looking for parents of children at Redbridge primary schools to support the bike bus as volunteer ride leaders. If you have a child at a primary school in Redbridge, can ride a bike and would like to volunteer, please get in touch via email or WhatsApp.
