JoyRiders and Fullwood and Gearies Primary Schools are joining up to make the first JoyRiders Bike Bus.
The ‘bus’ is a big group bike ride for everyone to join and ride to school together. There will be ‘bike bus stops’ where you and your children can join the bike bus on the way to school. The bus will be led by qualified cycling instructors Nadjie and Serena. For more information about how bike buses work, see the video about a school in Glasgow's bike bus below.
The bus will run to and from school every Tuesday during term time, from May 2025. Children must be supervised by an adult; this could be you or another adult known to the child on the bus. Children in Year 6 can come on their own and will be supervised by Nadjie and Serena.
The route and bike bus stops will be decided after initial expressions of interest.
If you or your children don't have bikes but would still like to join us, let us know using the form below as we're looking into ways of providing people with bikes so that they can take part.
To sign up for the bike bus, please fill out the Google form here.
